Your mission and responsibilities:

 

Specific Requirement:

This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of Advia and Atellica Immunoassay and Clinical Chemistry Technical Operations in the Shanghai facility.  This includes developing, staffing, and training the Technical Operations teams in China as well as supporting activities to enable product transfer and plant readiness for product manufacturing, registration, launch, and continuous commercial production. This position will be based in Shanghai but will have frequent interactions with the US Technical Operations group in Walpole, MA.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

-      Development of the detailed Technical Operations organizational structure to support product and production transfer and registration timelines

-      Collaborating with the Walpole based Technical Operations group to prepare for the successful transfer of documents, test methods, manufacturing processes, etc.

-      Responsible for creation of job requisitions, interviewing, hiring, and training of project team members

-      Direct supervision and management of personnel

 

-      Thorough understanding of immunoassay and clinical chemistry manufacturing processes and systems

-      Ability to work with cross-site manufacturing and development teams

-      Cross-functional communication and collaboration

-      Detailed written documentation of work

-      Ability to work well with others

-      Ability to travel domestically and internationally

 

 

 

Your qualifications and experiences:

 

General Requirements:

Job Family Responsibilities:

 

-     Guides the completion of very projects within unit.

-     Guides very complex product manufacturing to ensure that cost effectiveness, manufacturability, quality, and safety requirements are attainable in the production process

-     Guides development of the accuracy and availability of very complex procedures to support product modifications and assembly

-     Implements very complex technical projects or programs.

-     Provides technical design guidance for projects or programs.

-     Guides continuous improvement plans and project/program expansion opportunities.

 

 

Education:

 

-     Ph.D. or MS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field

-     Advanced degree required

 

 

 

Knowledge and Experience:

 

-     Comprehensive knowledge of IVD reagents and assays with at least 8-10 years of experience in reagent manufacturing or assay development

-     Superior ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues is a must.

-     The ability to direct and coordinate complex technical product investigations and devise corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) is required

-     Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and basic knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact.

-     Demonstrates understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.

-     Personnel management

-     Typically 8-10 years of successful experience in a directly related field (GMP and CFDA regulated environment, IVD experience a plus)  and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

-     Fluency in English is mandatory

Typically manages multiple levels of exempt employees and/or supervisors.

 

Key Working Relationships:

 

Frequent inter-organizational and external contacts.
