Product Development Intern – Computational Fluid Dynamics

Location: London

Duration: 6 months



Position Overview


Siemens PLM software is seeking a talented and enthusiastic summer intern to work within the Product Development group, focused on the innovative Siemens PLM products: STAR-CD and STAR-CCM+. The intern will build on existing work, exploring soot modellingand simulation in GDI engines and enhance its predictive capabilities.


Responsibilities

  • Perform sensitivity study of reaction mechanisms, soot library resolution, soot sectional model coefficients and number of sections
  • Validate the model against  experimental data
  • Cooperate with other institutions involved in the soot modelling and measurements
  • Document and present findings to stakeholders.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • A graduate degree in Fluids or Mechanical Engineering or other closely related field.
  • Prior experience with STAR-CD and STAR-CCM+ would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Fluent English speaking, reading and writing

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Fortran and C++ programming skills
  • Experience in a Linux environment
