Job Description

Siemens is looking for a Project Engineer TLC, to be hired with a permanent contract, for its premises in Milan. He/She will join in the engineering team involved in the Rail & Gas activities, SW products and solutions for SCADA systems.

He/She will take care of the activities involved in the life cycle of the IP communication network that is a fundamental part of the telecontrol system created by the group in the area of Electrical network for public utilities.

What will you manage in the short term?

  • Design, configuration, studies and verification of feasibility, technical analysis, implementation, testing, commissioning, documentation and monitoring of the SCADA TLC networks.
  • Work with the: software development group, customer service, external suppliers and our customers;
  • Operate in critical plants of national importance; must be able to provide assistance in autonomy in order to deal with failure conditions and the consequent restoration in the agreed SLAs, even by operating remotely
And what about the medium-long term? 

  • Acquire skills to add additional cyber-security elements to existing networks
  • Design and implement activities for the realization of a predictive monitoring system

Who are we looking for? 
A candidate with the following features:
  • Passionate and enthusiastic 
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design, configuration, testing and commissioning of service networks in electrical grid such as public utilities;
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems;
  • Experience in test activities for TLC network and definition of document sets for FAT and SAT.
  • Bachelor's / Three Years Master's Degree in Telecommunication or  technical diploma
  • Availability to travel for national trip;
  • Good knowledge of English and Italian languages
  • Knowledge of network technologies (e.g. PDH, Shdsl)
  • Knowledge of routers, switches and firewall;
  • Knowledge of network monitoring systems (OpenNms, Open View)
  • Customer relationship skills; ability to work at the customer's facilities respecting the safety regulations 
  • Remote problem solving skills for assistance on systems in operation
  • Knowledge of the Italian major utilities and Rail environment will be a plus
