General Counsel Siemens Mobility France (H/F)

Description of this position

You will be responsible for advising the French and international operations of Siemens Mobility France. In this role you will report directly to the CEO of Siemens Mobility France

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • ensure the compliance of the business to laws and regulations, and efficiently implement various group policies
  • provide advice and ensure compliance with Corporate law regulatory requirements
  • in alignment with the global Mobility Legal organization develop and implement legal templates and tools suitable for Siemens Mobility France
  • manage and oversee the Legal team supporting Siemens Mobility France
  • promote a Contract and Claim Management culture: provide support and trainings regarding both the bid- and the execution phases, ensure the use of the tools and templates
  • educate/train business partners on key legal policy and practice
  • review, negotiate, and draft a wide range of EPC contracts and subcontracts with public and private sector customers, often in English language, including PPP, consortiums, JV, license agreements, and responses to requests for proposals
  • identify risks and develop solutions to complex problems that mitigate risks and capture opportunities
  • irrespective of organizations and reporting lines, align and collaborate with Legal colleagues advising the Mobility business and other Siemens businesses in France and with Legal colleagues advising Mobility in Germany and in other Regional Companies in order to ensure efficient legal support for Siemens Mobility France
  • manage actual and threatened claims and litigation matters
  • retain and manage outside counsels

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

You have:

·    excellent academic credentials in French law (Master’s degree in business law or public procurement law, bar exam); financial skills are a plus

·    at least a 10-year experience as a legal business partner in an international legal department

·    profound legal expertise and experience in the field of project business; experience in rail business is a plus

·    experience in leading a team of inhouse lawyers, especially in times of re-organization

·    polished and effective negotiation, communication and writing/drafting skills

·    strong Corporate law background

·    experience in managing a matrix organization

·    bilingual French, English. German language skills are advantageous

·    willingness and ability to travel domestically and, occasionally, internationally
