Small Works Manager (Fire & Security) – Scotland


As the Small Works Manager, you will be required to deliver/commission small works projects (small works <400k) to all stakeholders on time, and within budget, whilst maintaining margins and keeping any margin erosion to a minimum.

Key to this role will be co-ordinating with clients and supporting quotations and design elements of small works projects as well as supporting the Branch to effectively deliver projects sold.

In addition, you will also be required to provide commissioning support for installations being undertaken – both in Small works and, from time to time, in major Projects – as necessary.

  • Responsible for coordinating internal installation and project resources in Branch area

  • Management of sub-contractors engaged in Small works installations

  • Commissioning support for projects where required

  • Communications with Clients during delivery phase for Small Works installations

  • Ensuring high quality of service is provided to meet customer expectations

  • Ensuring Project documentation is completed according to agreed timescales

  • Up skilling of wider team, mentoring and coaching

  • Technical support and assistance for Branch service activities

  • Supporting sales team opportunities for new and existing Clients

  • Maintain high levels of understanding of Siemens SSP product portfolio

  • Product support for Branch personnel – including Installation & Service engineering teams

  • Operate to the highest business standards, manage risk and protect the Siemens brand.

  • Responsible for H&S and wellbeing of internal and sub contracted installation team

  • Must have had previous experience in Fire/Security field engineering (preferred electrical bias)

  • IT- familiarity with product specific software

  • IT literate, Microsoft, outlook, office, excel, word, power point

  • Knowledge of IP Security solutions and associated architecture requirements, desirable

  • General understanding of Ethernet networks and transmission technologies, desirable


Training / Educational requirements

  • Electrical qualification HNC/ NVQ/ City Guilds or equivalent experience in electrical engineering

  • Health and Safety Awareness (IOSH managing safety) preferred

  • Project management/engineering experience

  • Emergency First Aid (preferred)

  • Must hold full UK driving license

  • Security - Knowledge of Security industry

  • Fire - Knowledge of BS5839 part 1-8, 9 & BS6266 preferred
