Job Description

 The Mission:


The Country Security Coordinator contributes to the security of Siemens personnel, assets, operations, and travel safety. Directed by the Country Security Officer and/or the CEO, he or she will be responsible for implementing and complying with the regulations set by GM SEC regarding assets, project, and travel security, personal protection and event security, protection against industrial espionage, crisis management, and security awareness for all Siemens operations in Iraq.   

Furthermore, the Security Coordinator is the primary interface with Private Security Companies who provide services to Siemens in Iraq. Towards this purpose, he or she works in support of the Country Security Officer Iraq.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Support the Country Security Officer in daily work tasks.
  • Collecting the travel data on daily basis and prepare statistical reports on annual and quarterly basis and as needed.
  • Create and update the shared folder on regular basis
  • In case of requests for secure transportation, act as the liaison between security providers, vehicle provider, project management, and the travelers to ensure full coordination of the service.
  • Manage communication with Private Security Companies, including the drafting of coordinating instructions for final approval.
  • Liaise with new security providers and send them the daily reports formats to ensure daily report delivery.
  • Review and follow up on daily Project Reports received from the security providers.
  • Identify travel regulation violations and report the incident.
  • Prepare Security Incident Reports (open source reporting) 5 days a week to cover relevant the security incidents in Iraq.
  • Prepare the monthly report to cover the incidents occurring during the whole month with a brief statistic for relevant governorates.
  • Request and review Incident Response and Crisis Management Plans as well as Security Concepts prepared by Project Managers. 
  • Produce Bid and Project Security Concepts, advise Business Units on security contract proposals and costings.
  • Organize all projects and business opportunities in the data base.
  • Prepare the Iraq Crisis Plan draft to be reviewed with Country Security Officer.
  • Take over travel security management in case of absence of Travel Regulation Coordination.
  • Support in travel presentations.
  • Train newly employed staff.
  • Charging the business units internally through SAP system the Travel Application Cost, this include the Preparation a list of travelers on monthly basis, Checking the commercial information sent to us and return back to the Business Units for correct information (and often times, explain to them what the commercial items mean!) and Preparation a list of all travelers and follow up with their Business Units to obtain a PO to base the charges upon
  • Charge the travelers for each month and follow up with the business units after receiving the invoices.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Relevant undergraduate academic degree or equivalent education from a security authority
  • Local in-depth knowledge of the main security issues in the country/region.
  • Knowledge of corporate security risk management methodologies and standards across security topics (personal/ event/ project security, property/asset protection, information protection, crisis management).
  • Ability to develop good network in the security community (within the country, authorities, institutions, other companies).
  • Experience in security travel coordination in high threat environments
  • Project Management experience (e.g. process implementation, etc.)
  • Very good level of English (spoken and written).
  • Good IT skills, experience working with MS office Package
  • Good negotiating and influencing skills
