Senior Proposal Engineer - Power Generation Services
Siemens are looking for an Senior Proposal Engineer to join our team based in Tres Cantos (Madrid) supporting our Power Generation Services business – Distributed Generation Oil&Gas (PS DO). We have an opportunity for an individual to work in a friendly team environment, leading sales and proposal activities in the aftermarket business. We are looking for someone who has a good knowledge of our product line and has commercial awareness.
What are my responsibilities?
ü Coordinates with engineering, factory, field service groups and marketing groups to resolve configuration, scope and technical changes during the quoting process.
ü Plans and manages overall coordination to elaborate high level proposals, including developing, editing and writing original proposal responses and other sales-related documents.
ü Identifies and creates strategic business opportunities in a Product to Market and highly competitive environment.
ü Reviews sales proposals for products and service opportunities to determine proposal feasibility.
ü Maintains current knowledge of complete Siemens product range to maximize product and service offering to customers.
ü Participates in the handling of customer complaints and equipment problems.
ü Servicing customers after the sale to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
ü Responsible for the identification and interpretation of all scheduled and unscheduled parts enquiries, including associated services and repairs.
ü Provides spares support for customer urgent shutdowns, react promptly and professionally to urgent requests for information on spares and for driving improvements in quick response situations.
ü Coordinates, receive and analyze Spare Parts RFQs from customers regarding material, services and outages.
ü Assist sales teams in processing chargeable spares orders and the creation of recommended spares lists, in order to maximize any sales opportunities.
ü Coordinate whole proposal process up to the customer Purchase Order using Sales Force and Spiridon/SAP tools.
ü Updates opportunity information in Sales Force (Proposal CRM), being in charge of elaboration of dashboards and reports.
ü Collaborates with financials, project execution and supply chain management departments during whole PO process.
ü Establishes the scope of spares to be recommended to customer.
ü Ensures all the Siemens processes and compliance requirements are implemented and strictly adhered to.
ü Be aware of the organization’s safety and security procedures, ensuring they are adhered to at all times.
ü Daily interaction with factories to coordinate enquires and quotations.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- A degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Good understanding of Turbomachinery, Compressors and Steam Turbine packages, driven units and associated equipment and detailed knowledge of Industrial and Power Generation in assigned markets. At least 5 years of experience in this field.
- Successful experience in sales or marketing role is an asset.
- Commercial awareness, problem solving and creative thinking with quality and efficiency being the focus.
- Good communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal with negotiation level.
- Skills in effective presentation.
- Must be able to work as a team member.
- Awareness of different cultures and customs
- Organized and methodical person.
- European work permit.
