Software Architect


As a Software Architect you will join the DF PL STS 1D Software Architecture global team and work in the areas of Cloud and Model Management and out of the Towcester (UK) office. In this role, you will:

  • Elicit and analyze Requirements
  • Identify Architecture Significant Requirements (Function & Non-functional)
  • Identify Architectural cost and risk drivers
  • Mitigate risks by Proof of Concept implementation
  • Define, Document and communicate Software Architecture choices
  • Support the Development team in its realization
  • Understand and motivate team to improve the overall DevOps strategy and Code Quality
  • All in close interaction with your stakeholders (e.g. TDL, Developers, PO, QA, peer Software Architects)
  • Follow Technological evolutions inside and outside of Digital Industries Software


  • Master's degree in in Software engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of proven Software Architecture experience of which 1+ years in Web/Cloud related projects
  • Excellent coding skills in C++, Java and Python and their IDEs
  • Good knowledge of HTML5/CSS/JavaScript, NodeJS, AWS Architecture & Fundamentals, Docker
  • Knowledge and experience with various Database and SCM technologies
  • Knowledge and experience with various Communication protocols (SOA, REST, gRPC, HTTP 1.1 & 2) and know how to position & use them
  • Knowledge about Authentication and Security relevant for Cloud & Web
  • Experience with Software Documentation with UML (4+1 Views)
  • Practical experience with Design Tactics and Scenarios
  • Experience with Agile, Testing, Design/Architecture Patterns and Refactoring
  • Constructive, fluid and open communication style (English)
  • Able to work independently & as part of a global team
  • Creative, open minded, pro-active, positive & courageous


  • Knowledge of Simcenter Model Management features, Architecture, Technology, Code and Development process
  • Familiarity with System Simulation tools (e.g. Amesim, Simulink, Flomaster)
  • Notions of Angular, Mendix, C#
  • Notions of IT aspects of AWS Cloud (Proxy, CDN, VPC, API Gateway…)
  • Willing to travel occasionally (~10%)
