Technical IT Application Manager

Job Description


As a Technical IT Application Manager, you will be managing and supporting an enterprise IT application in the manufacturing area, used by Healthcare Business Units in Europe and China. Your tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.

Tasks and Responsibilities

IT Application Management

  • Ensure that the IT application meets the intended use
  • Responsible for Incident, Problem and Access Management Processes
  • Contribute to Knowledge, Release and Configuration Management Processes
  • Ensure Escalation Management

Technical Expertise and Support

  • Configure and install enterprise IT applications
  • Provide 2nd level support and perform root cause analysis
  • Coordinate special technical requests with IT service providers
  • Contribute to implementation of IT application architecture (technology, interfaces, landscape)
  • Ensure IT application availability as well as performance
  • Define and ensure backup and restore scenarios

Quality/Compliance Management

  • Ensure and control that the IT application complies with
    • Legal regulations (e.g. privacy laws, data protection)
    • Siemens internal regulations (e.g. ISEC requirements, IT compliance, SQL server, Windows Server kowledge is and asset).
    • Healthcare regulations (e.g. IT Quality Management System)
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date quality and end-user documentation
  • Contact to internal and external auditors

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science/Engineering and/or Business Management
  • 2-5 years of experiences in IT Application Management especially in Incident and Problem Management
  • Hands on experience with web-based and cloud applications
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on multicultural sensitivity
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills with respect to varying customer and business processes and requirements as they relate to a larger picture
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Structured, proactive, and self-directed work style
  • Fluent in both German and English

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Experience in Healthcare industry business processes
  • Experience in the manufacturing area
  • Project Management Professional certification is a plus
  • Availability for international business travel including USA, Germany and China
