Development Manager – SaaS Cloud Solutions

A brand-new team. A brand-new location. A brand-new challenge.

We need you to get us going. You’re a Development Manager, and a Scrum Master, and alongside our Cloud Architect and our Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for getting our team started in Katowice as we build a new programme from scratch.

You might not know that we’re focusing on a new SaaS offering for Electronic Board Systems, to complement the existing market leading desktop and on-premise solutions. What will I do?

  • Build and lead our Development team– you’ll hire and lead and strong team of talented developers. You’ll build skills, bring people together and set the standard for development in this new structure.

  • Be our first Scrum Master– while we’re scaling, you’ll be the Scrum Master until we reach critical mass. Eventually, you’ll spend much less of your time in this space and hand over the role to a new Scrum Master who’ll report to you.

  • Make sure we deliver a great product – You’ll deliver market leading products with fast performance and a compelling user experience. It’s your job to make sure the quality surpasses customer expectations and our releases run smoothly.

What’s needed to do this job successfully? 
We’re looking for three key things

  • Software development expertise
  • Outstanding leadership
  • Scrum Master expertise

You’ll already need to be an experienced development professional. You’ll need the kind of knowledge that comes along with an education in software engineering or computer science, backed up with real world programming and coding skills gained from working in service-oriented architectures.

You’re going to be our first Scrum Master too, someone who’s seen a lot of enterprise or engineering software development in at least one previous Scrum Master role, where you’ve had accountability for driving Agile and Scrum practices successfully. You’ll be comfortable working with various patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach – like numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc. You’ll also have experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games and the like.
