Siemens is actively looking for a Solution Architect. The Solution Architect is responsible for managing customer requirements, leading workshops, analyzing business requirements and driving functional and technical solutions through project documentation. This role involves intensive and on-going customer interaction throughout the entire lifecycle of a project from the requirements phase, to the configuration and testing phases. The role will involve coordinating an engineering team to ensuring consistency and alignment across designed components and their documentation. A high level of professionalism, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work with technical and non-technical individuals is a necessity to successfully define and implement a quality solution.
We are looking for a strong leader who is dynamic and flexible with a solid business and technical background that can be applied to enterprise software delivery in the Smart Meter / Smart Grid Utility space. Working knowledge of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management (MDM) is required. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to work independently, remotely and multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The key responsibilities in this role are to define and drive solutions across multiple business functions, processes, and technical domains.Manage and/or participate in project teams including software implementation, systems integration, and business process. Conduct workshops with customers on-site to gather and document "as is" and "to be" business process and solution design requirements. Analyze software and configuration requirements according to specifications to aid in the development of project plans, milestones, and estimates. Field questions and deliver training on software functionality from end users, and manage the expectations of the customer or business partner.
In order to be considered for this role you will have a knowledge of deregulated and regulated market structures and business processes, and the Australian market requirements a dictated by AER and AEMO. You will have familiarity with Smart Grid initiatives and regulations, strong systems integration experience via messaging bus’s and web services, web technology deployment, configuration and an administration background is a plus. Experience with AMI Head End Systems and metering technology, and with utilities enterprise systems such as GIS, DMS, and OMS is highly desirable.
The ideal candidates will also have a number of years experience with enterprise software projects including utility front/back office application integration, and a degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related fields. You will also be able to demonstrate full Project Lifecycle experience, including definition, requirements gathering, development, configuration and delivery, and have a fundamental understanding of Smart Grid technologies.
