Instrumentation Engineer

Job Description


• Completes complex material specification, schematic preparation and follow-up to ensure proper and effective implementation;
• Reviewing the PID’s provided by the process engineers in regards to instrumentation & automation equipment;
• Handling all technical matters related to instrumentation & automation equipment especially the preparation of tenders and procurement specifications;
• Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of design in regards to instrumentation & automation equipment;
• Travel to fabrication shops for meetings, inspections and functional tests;
• Provide technical support to external design resources, equipment vendors, and fabricators;
• Performs explanations and clarifies information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data;
• Performs communication of complex technical and commercial issues;
• Completes recommendations for complex new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements;
• Follows direction of experienced personnel about technology concepts;
• Prepares calculations and results ready for quality checks;
• Participates in training to gain experience in various concepts;
• Participates in clients meetings and presents results to clients;
• Support sales opportunities by clearly and fluently explaining Siemens' best practices and value proposition to support customer needs;
• Key Responsibilities: Performs full range of standard work for the professional field;
• Refers complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations;
• Provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• BS Degree in instrumentation & automation engineering or related engineering discipline;
• 5  or more years of experience in instrumentation & automation related work experience;
• English – advanced;
• German – represents an advantage;
• Ability to read engineering documents (P&I, PFD, general layouts, etc.);
• Competent computer literacy (MS-Office, AUTOCAD);
• Experience with PLC software, commissioning activities;
• Ability to work effectively with team members of all disciplines
What else do I need to know?
• Willingness to travel (B category driving license)
• Capability to work under pressure
