Finance Officer

Job Description

Siemens have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to join our Finance team in Ulverston, working for our Subsea business. Celebrating 40 years in the Subsea industry, the centre of excellence here in Ulverston manufacture Subsea connectors for the global market, we develop new products and manage the lifecycle of existing products.


Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support with a variety of accounting duties, for which Siemens is passionate about supporting employee’s professional development and offering continued training and support.

Role responsibilities:


  • Support with Finance activities for our R&D/Product Lifecycle Management project delivery

  • Monthly performance reporting of revenue, margin and cash for the projects stream

  • Liaise with project managers to ensure projects are correctly profiled on SAP, ensure revenue and costs are correctly recognised for the duration of the project to financial reporting guidelines

  • Liaise with bid managers and project managers to ensure appropriate billing milestones are in place for R&D project T&C’s

  • Report on internal R&D projects as required

  • Fixed asset controller, ensuring all elements of approvals and procedures are followed

  • Fixed asset analysis and reporting, budget and forecast responsibility

  • Fixed asset annual verification

  • Cost centre controlling, monitoring and forecasting for areas of responsibility, including deviations and corrective measures/actions

  • Provide support for invoicing and export, preparing export entry declarations

  • Provide support with ad hoc reporting for cash collection and receivables analysis

  • Responsibility for completing ICFR controls for area of own responsibility

  • Takes part in business improvement activities, as assigned.


Skills and Experience required:


  • Basic finance / accounting knowledge and have started AAT/CIMA (or equivalent) or a desire to attain professional accounting qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and SAP desirable

  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions

  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team player and individually

  • Strong initiative, and ability to identify areas for improvement
