Head of Procurement

Job Description

Mission :

Being the leader of the LDA Procurement team in India which drives local and global productivity, GVS and CVE activities. Additionally, the mission is to perform planning, co-ordination and end-to-end implementation of all outsourcing activities to procure fully assembled / tested motors and drives within the budget parameters & at optimum costs with the objective to meet the delivery and profitability objectives of POC LDA.

Dimension :

Leading the team of strategic procurement, Global Value Sourcing, CVE specialist and Global Logistics Manager to contribute to global LDA success as well as leading outsourcing scope of MV Motors and Drives in collaboration with all cross-functional key stakeholders. 

Areas of Responsibilities :

"Purchasing Strategies & Initiatives:
Define purchasing strategies & initiatives based on business and market conditions, market analysis of material/products/services to be sourced & vendor profile in order to maximize purchase efficiency. Drive GVS strategies for global LDA demand in alignment with Global Commodity Management and global locations.
"METHODS & PROCESSES:
Plan & establish Procurement processes as required. Optimization and simplification of Procurement standards based on Digitalisation opportunities (eRFQ, best practise methods, processes, tools etc.)"
SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT: 
Identify, negotiate and award new suppliers, Review and Reporting of KPIs and initiate potential counter measures. Management of outsourcing partners to ensure best cost, availability and quality together with X-Functions
"COST REDUCTION
Initiate and support cost reduction initiatives with all available levers (GVS, CVE, eAuctions etc.)"

"CAPACITY PLANNING:
Based on requirements plan and coordinate needs of manpower, machines etc. Suggest investment / outsourcing alternatives and monitor, review and implement decisions in order to meet plan requirements."
"DATA MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING:
Track, report and review relevant KPIs to manage improvements.

"PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Manage a team of people with different Procurement functions and enable them to achieve their annual targets. Identify, recognize and recommend rewards for performance in order to motivate the workforce and ensure smooth working. " 
"Optimization of international Logistics/ Sourcing models
Regular review of logistics spent and models and gradually propose and implement improvements in order to reduce costs of LDA and to improve the delivery performance."
"International Sourcing:
Support the global LDA factories with sourcing from India in order to maximize purchase efficiency globally."

Esentials  :

At least 10 years experience with Min 5 years in different procurement functions including, Sourcing, Supplier Development, and Value Engineering. 
Handled Sourcing, Supplier development, GVS, CVE activities and knowledge of logistics
Influencing Leadership skills of 5 years with mentoring and coaching capability
Worked with Global teams for min 6 years
