The position is based in our Lincoln office, based in the GSOC building, Teal Park.

Do you have management experience and the drive to make a difference?  We are recruiting for a Shipping coordinator to join our logistics team.  This role does not require shipping experience; we need someone with great attention to detail, a team player and a positive, proactive attitude.

What are the role responsibilities?

  • Provide E2E shipping service to support SITL & our customers logistic requirements.

  • Responsible for coordinating shipments to UK/EU/ROW based on the demand reported in SAP for engines, parts and tooling whilst ensuring that customer required by dates are achieved. 

  • Thoroughly understand the principles and processing of all relevant shipping documentation including ATA Carnet, Dangerous/Hazardous goods.

  • Support in driving down transportation costs by working with the pricing strategy to utilise the best service at the most efficient price.

  • Ensure that all spot price transportation costs are obtained and recorded for compliance and cost saving analysis.

  • Responsible for maintaining excellent working relationships with the nominated Freight Forwarders/Couriers and ensuring that any escalations are managed effectively.

  • Ensure that the customs clearance process for engines, parts and tooling is adhered to for compliance and to avoid additional costs to the business.

  • Work closely with the Project teams in coordinating the return of engines, parts and tooling ensuring that the customs clearance process is adhered to in a timely manner to avoid demurrage costs.

  • Export register to be fully maintained as a record of all shipments processed and the relevant shipping documentation stored in line with AEO accreditation requirements.

  • Export entries to be receipted and validated within 30 days of export of the shipment escalating any queries to the IMEX team.

  • Work closely with the IMEX and ECC Teams to ensure that all processes remain fully compliant.

  • Close working relationship with the Indirect Purchasing team to provide feedback on existing transport suppliers.

  • Understand the implications of the different Incoterms and be able to recommend the most suitable to be used per business circumstance.

  • Working with our customers to ensure that any issue relating to shipping is responded to in a timely and informative manner, offering positive solutions to issues that may arise.

  • Manage the team mailbox, responding to emails both professionally and informatively in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate and support in driving change to existing ways of working and identify areas for continuous improvement. Working with the team and Warehouse and Shipping Supervisor to implement the improvements.

  • Attend cross-functional meetings upon request and provide support to improve processes.

  • Participate in projects utilizing shipping knowledge.

  • Participate in the Out of Hours program.

Planned changes to our business

In May 2019 Siemens announced that its Gas and Power (GP) business, comprising the company's oil and gas, conventional power generation, power transmission and related services businesses – is to be given complete independence and entrepreneurial freedom through a carveout and a subsequent public listing (spinoff).
