What is this opportunity?

As Account Executive, Energy Performance Contracting, you will be part of our Energy Performance Services (EPS) business at SIEMENS Canada. If you are a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of success selling performance contracts for various verticals such as commercial buildings/ Industrial Plants / Healthcare / Higher-Education etc., which results is reducing energy costs for our customers, then we want to talk to you! This is a national role requiring travel.

What will you do?

  • Under general direction, responsible for the sale of large, complex, bundled offerings with guaranteed savings to high potential, solution sales customers at the C-level.
  • Promote the SIEMENS value proposition at the executive level (C-level) by providing solutions to the customer's business and financial challenges.
  • Build and manage long term customer relationships/partnerships with key and target building owners.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction; Execute the sales process to aid in cultivating and managing long-term relationships and in seeking out, qualifying and closing new sales and guaranteed savings opportunities. Guarantee energy savings as the foundation of managed account relationships.
  • Sell the EPS offerings by leveraging your persuasive, persistence and confidence to building owners and owner representatives at the C-level with a focus on performance contracting while reaching optimal profit levels.
  • Build partnering relationships with the economic buyer, owner or owner representatives responsible for the decision-making process to drive the solution sales of SIEMENS EPS offerings.
  • Seek out, target and initiate contact with prospective customers and develop network of contacts.
  • Address customer's financial, business, operational and environmental objectives, needs and requirements. Recommend solutions that match the customer's business and financial challenges;
  • Differentiate SIEMENS EPS solutions and products from competitors based on business benefits and knowledge of competitor's business strategies.
  • Lead internal resources by building and fostering team relationships to ensure customer satisfaction. Work cross-functionally with the Engineering group, Project Management and Design team to drive opportunities. Owns and facilitates the customer relationship particularly when selling Performance Contracting initiatives.
  • Target new customers based on vertical market strategies.
  • Attend and present at trade show; Participate in professional organization; Keep abreast of industry trends.
Qualifications:

What will you need to succeed?

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales and account management in specific with EPC business model (Engineering, Procurement, and Commissioning) in North America, preferably Canada
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ direct experience in Energy Performance Contracting business
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience selling HVAC or Building Automation
  • Be a Natural Hunter and Lead Generator with early engager and trusted advisor approach
  • Demonstrate established relationships with C-Level and key decision makers in the targeted verticals i.e. Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial, Government & Municipal
  • Industry knowledge and existing relationships with sub-contractors, Architecture & Design firms to get involved in early stages of an opportunity
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity and quality in business
  • Strong interpersonal communication and collaborative skills; Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel 50%
  • Financial acumen into the Performance Contract modeling; Ability to work, lead and coordinate with financial partners
  • Experience with leading and submitting RFPs (Request for Proposals); Contract management
