The Financial Analyst 5 will be a key contributor to the NAM Performance Controlling group. The role reports to the Sr. Director, Finance (Performance Controlling – Closing & Reporting) and calls for participation in all facets of the functions of the group - closing, financial reporting, KPI analysis, forecast and ad hoc projects & reports.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Analysis of key processes within the department to identify opportunities for improvement and potential streamlining/efficiencies
Monitoring and understanding of Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines to ensure compliance in execution of PC closing process
Perform monthly P&L analytics during closing to ensure integrity of data prior to books & records closure
Analysis on various KPI’s of the business, including revenue, sales margins, contribution margin, non-op accounts, operating expenses and key OWC positions. Creation of reports and graphs detailing various KPI's as needed.
Interaction with Business Areas to gain clarity on key business drivers
Perform critical trend analyses during monthly close process
Deep dive analysis on balance sheet accounts as identified via periodic reviews with Accounting group
Preparation of analysis and presentation to management as needed on key topics noted above
Perform ad hoc analysis and work on project teams as required
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
The successful candidate will have a background with experience in budgeting/forecasting, monthly close activities, and various types of financial analysis (preferably 10+ years). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must, and experience with SAP, Hyperion (HFM or Planning), and think-cell is desired. An MBA or CPA is preferred. Minimal travel (10%) may be required.
