The Director of Sales Training Excellence, Lab Diagnostics will report to the Head of NAM DX and will interact with the NAM Sales team, NAM and Global Marketing teams, and the MSC field training team. This is an individual contributor role. The ideal candidate must have lab diagnostics experience, sales training experience, strong leader qualities, and a background in sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be the central owner of sales training excellence for lab diagnostics
Define the training/onboarding strategies of the lab diagnostics sales organization
Bring together and coordinate sales training needs and requirements
Own the holistic training, competency-based curriculum for the sales organization
- Must be an effective sales coach
Exhibit competencies such as sales processes, sales tools, soft skills, and product trainings; spanning onboarding, on-the-job training, upskilling, and coaching.
Engage with sales leadership to understand needs and requirements for training, and continuously assess / audit competency levels.
Effectively coordinate content creation (with Sales and Marketing) for the various components of the curriculum and roles
Assess delivery mechanisms and effectively coordinate with MSC or other training providers (internal or external) to ensure best-in-class delivery of the various components of the curriculum.
Manage the administration / scheduling / planning of training program timelines, to ensure roll-out is aligned with current business needs and overall business milestones
Monitor / track training activities, sales team competency levels and satisfaction with training curriculum and execution
- Own the following strategic priorities:
Improve competency levels in the sales organization
Ensure adequate onboarding of new hires
Ensure training satisfaction
- Own the following deliverables:
Overall DX training strategy
Curriculum for all Sales roles
Delivery of trainings according to training curriculum via select delivery mechanisms
- 10-15 years successful sales and sales management experience
- Minimum 5 year of sales training experience
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
- Project management experience (Lean, Agile, etc.)
- Successful CRM Platform and Sales Tools rollout experience
- Must be able to travel minimum 50% of time
