Job Description

Siemens Logistics LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in the mechanical engineering field, specifically with complex integrated systems. Typically, 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented below:

 

Minimum Technical Experience

Must Have

Experience in the design of logistics automation such as high speed sortation systems, order fulfillment machinery or other machinery of similar complexity. This experience must include concept level and detail level design of mechanisms, frames, sheet metal and structural elements.

Advanced level experience in the use of premium 3D CAD tools such as Inventor, Pro-E, Solid Works etc. (Unigraphics NX proficiency is a plus)

Product development experience, knowledgeable about what it takes to bring a quality product o the market.

Structural analysis experience 

Prime-mover selection experience

Creation of detailed, accurate technical data packages including schematics, assembly drawings and bills of material.

Effective verbal and written communication skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word generating clear and concise specifications

 

Nice to Have

Experience in the design and installation of conveyor systems
Experience in the use of Unigraphics NX 3D CAD tools
ANSYS 15 proficiency

Experience with generation and management of structured bills of materials (BOM) including proficiency in the use of enterprise business management tools such as SAP.

Experience with fluid power actuators and associated control methodology
Working understanding of project level requirements, constraints and budgets

Responsibilities

Support and provide Engineering services to the Customer Service group. Develops the design of very complex systems that integrate hardware and software. Develops very complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up. Develops recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction. Guides very complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.

 

Education
BS / BA in related discipline or advance degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
