Role Description: 

Siemens Solutions (GP)

The Solutions Regional IT Business Partner will be the trusted IT partner for Solutions within the lead country bundle US. Working closely with the business, the incumbent will establish close working relationships within the business, understanding their IT needs and strategic directions.

They will be the partner to other IT leads within GP IT, SOP IT and Service Providers (internal and/or external) to secure any required support on given topics.  Close alignment with SLN IT HQ is required to align on global strategic directions and IT landscape.

The successful candidate will act as the lead for current transition and*reverse) carve out activities surrounding the move of SLN into Gas & Power (GP), in preparation for GP to become a separate legal entity. This will involve close alignment with the regional & global GP IT Carve out teams and SLN IT HQ.

Working closely with GP IT and the Business, the successful candidate will work towards gaining full IT transparency of the IT architecture, landscape and supporting resources to ensure successful separation of all IT services for carve out activities, both logical and physical.

After carve-out activities are completed, the candidate will build on the close partnering relationship to work with the business and SLN IT HQ to harmonize and optimize the IT landscape.

  1. Role – Detailed IT Responsibilities
    • Account Management
      • Proactive management of relationship with business management
      • Partner with Business in tactics towards meeting Business financial and operating goals
      • Dedicated contact for Business management into the IT organization

§  Liaison/ collaboration partner between regional SLN Business management and SLN IT HQ organization

§  Management of Opportunities and Leads- (capturing, assessing of demands) including Offer-Management (align pricing and scoping)

      • Reconcile and align regional IT budget with SLN Business management and SLN IT HQ
      • Ensure that SLN IT HQ strategy and architecture is aligned with regional business strategy and needs
      • Manage IT Operations at the assigned sites.
      • Manage IT Issue escalations towards quick resolutions

    • Demand Management
      • Advocate as the business/ trusted advisor for business management (‘business voice within IT’)
      • Collection and analysis of customer requirements including derivation of change/service requests aligned with SLN IT HQ
      • Evaluation of value proposition of business demands
      • Regional alliance management derived of SLN IT HQ strategy (e.g. regional DI, SI, SOP, LDA, etc.)
      • Coordination and review of IT services provided by IT service owners including management of service quality/ continuity (SLAs, KPIs, etc.)

    • Portfolio Management
      • Development and alignment of business-specific regional IT strategy aligned with SLN IT HQ
      • Development of business-specific regional IT digitalization roadmap
      • Provision of business and portfolio requirements into SLN IT portfolio management
      • Ensuring business relevance of IT services provided by service provider
      • Coordination and management of regional business specific project portfolio aligned with SLN IT HQ
      • Continuous dialogue with regional business regarding innovation/ improvements including local optimization aligned with SLN IT HQ
      • Marketing, and selling of our solutions and services to Business

    • Project Management
      • Engage with Business partners towards decisions on IT projects
      • Management and execution of Business initiated IT projects including monitoring KPIs (quality, time and budget)
      • Management IT solutions rollouts, deployment and support

  1. HR – Required Skills
    • Proven experience in leading international/ intercultural teams
    • Professional knowledge about Plant and Solution business models and processes
    • General knowledge about business transactions between different companies and ARE’s within Siemens as a well as an understanding of the operating companies’ products and services
    • Deep understanding of digitalization technologies and potential application to Plant, Solution and Service business
    • Prior experience in the successful management of business relationships, at all organizational levels
    • Professional experience in managing a global end to end IT service portfolio

o   Professional experience in IT budget planning and alignment with business partner on cost transparency and control throughout the Fiscal Year.

    • Professional experience in managing internal and external service providers
    • Thorough understanding of Business systems and processes (ERP/Solutions/Service); SAP knowledge is particularly important

    • Educational: A degree in Business, IT, Engineering or similar, coupled with a Post graduate Management qualification is highly desirable.
