Position Overview

The Siemens Gas & Power EPC business is a global leader in the design, build and integration of power plants to meet expanding energy needs in domestic and emerging markets.  Transportation & Logistics group within GP EPC is an integral part of the organization for successful integrations of large and industrial scale power plant worldwide.  Working Project Logistics Americas Execution team, based in Orlando, FL is responsible for project cargo management supporting multiple business units under Gas and Power operating company. 


Logistics Project Professional – you will be responsible for management of transportation and logistics for both domestic and international projects proposals.  This includes concept design and cost estimation of all modes of transportation, including ocean, rail, air, barge, and heavy haul.



  • Prepare transportation proposals for Domestic and international large-scale power plant projects.

  • Interface with Sales, Proposal Management, Purchasing and Engineering disciplines to determine Project Proposal logistics scope and strategy.

  • Obtain and evaluate carrier bids to select the best cost and service options in support of Project Proposals.

  • Observe domestic and international transportation market trend and assist in incorporating new service providers and/or technologies into the logistics portfolio.

  • Mentor and help improve in-depth logistics knowledge of colleagues.

  • Support development and improvement of logistics and transportation process.

  • Provide Transportation Estimates for project bids based on equipment sourcing, expected shipping volumes, project schedule, locations, and delivery terms.

  • Coordinate general transport concept with project management to ensure that transport operations are trouble free and cost effective.

  • Identify the area of improvement to ensure continuous process improvement.


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5 years of progressive logistics and transportation experience in supporting a global commercial EPC, Power firm, or project forwarder/carrier.

  • Demonstrated direct experience in planning and execution of transportation logistics  

  • Demonstrated success and depth of experience in project management, preparation and execution of all modes of transportation.

  • Experience with domestic and international logistics regulations and safety standards.

  • Ability to work within teams.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely information or data to non-technical associates, peers, and management.

  • Knowledge in Incoterms.

  • Experience within project logistics service providers.

  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.

  • Innovation, creativity, willingness to share and explore new ideas.

  • Travel up to 10% (domestic and international travels)

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Knowledge of various domestic and international documents used in transportations and export / import.

  • Knowledge of import and export requirements

  • Knowledge in Maritime terms and conditions

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
