To support our growth, in our "digitalization meets tomorrow!" Journey, we are looking for a Research Engineer for our team Industry solutions team in Leuven, Belgium, focused on autonomous systems for the Aerospace industry.
As part of the team you will be conducting research and technical development of prototype products and technologies, with a focus on simulation and validation of autonomous system with Siemens simulation and testing solutions for aerospace, marine and off-highway applications.
You will help identify and keep abreast of a novel of technologies and applications and investigate related capabilities and limitations of Siemens Digital Industry Software solutions. In line with this, building and maintaining a network of meaningful internal and external research partners, as well as industrial partners, that will benefit our research orientation.
Initiating, leading and contribution to research proposals on a national and international level and contributing to and writing scientific papers/applications will be among your core responsibilities.
At Siemens you will have the opportunity to take the lead on relevant research topics, while performing the necessary research project management duties and execution, such as coordinating and communicating tasks within the research team and wider organization, as well as preparing technical presentations and presenting them to research partners involved in project meetings.
- University degree M.Sc. in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- Several years of working experience or a PhD in a relevant field
- Experience of modelling of autonomous systems is a strong asset, especially unmanned aircraft's
- Experience with performance simulation software, in particular Siemens Digital Industry software such as Simcenter Amesim, Simcenter Prescan, Simcenter 3D
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (C/C++, Python, Matlab ...)
- Fluency in English is required, additional languages are an asset
