Flender Corp. (a Siemens company) is in search of an Customer Service Representative with experience in managing customer orders in an fast paced industrial environment. Prior customer service experience mechanical or industrial components is highly preferred. This position will report to the Head of Supply Chain - Order Management is located in Elgin, Illinois.
Summary of the position.
The top candidate chosen for this key role will be responsible for processing incoming customer purchase orders, confirm delivery, monitor order backlog, communicate order status and ensure customer satisfaction along with achieving weekly KPI targets. This position is for the Couplings segment.
Effectively handles a high-volume, fast-pace coupling business which includes
Processing, clarification and confirmation of customer purchase orders using SAP
Successfully communicates and handles orders subject to VAT / triangular business
Independently prepares and clarifies basic technical and commercial proposals using SAP, as well as internal tools (x.Cat, price lists, etc.)
Customer communication on all product related topics (incl. technical aspects, order tracking, proposal generation and others). Delegates complex technical topics to more experienced colleagues
Coordinates internal processes related to the coupling business (drop-shipment routing, purchasing, stockroom, shipping, receiving clarification)
Checks inventory and release orders on stock arrival (bi-weekly report, action, delivery reliability)
Initiates and supervises rush orders (expedite with Germany and Elgin-internally)
Responsible for PO inbox
Supports the coupling team in a flexible and adequate way
Implements process improvements for the product group to reduce manual efforts and improve the overall cost situation
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Intermediate Microsoft Office experience
Inside Sales and/or Customer Service experience

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Experience with processing of orders subject to European VAT
Experience in managing drop-shipments orders (3rd party-countries)
Project management skills
Power Transmission Background
Process development and implementation
4 year degree along with work related experiences (e.g. order management, customer service). Associates degree with relevant experience will be considered
Typically, 3-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience where applicable
