What is this Opportunity?

The Intelligent Infrastructure Solutions (I2S) Business Development Manager (BDM) for Canada acts as the strategy leader in all aspects of developing, selling and implementing digital building solutions. As BDM, you will work in close collaboration with branch teams, including sales and operations managers, account executives, project engineers and project managers. The main objective of this role is to achieve I2S Solutions and Service order intake targets for Canada. You will report directly to the Vice President of the business unit. What will you do?


  • Manage and guide all stages of the project: conceptualization, initial design, budgeting, final architecture, deployment, commissioning and service. Provide project specific presentations.
  • Provide direct support in strategy development, customer engagement strategy, customer meetings and presentations.
  • Responsible for defining scope of I2S projects. Create and manage country business development strategy around I2S.  Track and report running pipeline of opportunities in close collaboration with branch and country management. Engage proper head-office resources as required for project development.
  • Proactively position Siemens Smart Infrastructure (SI) portfolio and solutions to general contractors, consultants and end-user client. Work in close collaboration with network engineers in development of converged infrastructure solutions.
  • Migrate Existing Customer Base to Intelligent Infrastructure Solutions.
  • Lead Tier Construction Market Approach in each branch utilizing Intelligent Infrastructure Solutions to differentiate Siemens in the marketplace and on target projects.
  • Educate Zone Sales and Operations teams to successfully sell and execute Intelligent Infrastructure Solutions.
  • Provide Guidance to Branch Sales Management on target project acquisition; Provide Guidance to service sales teams on implementation of I2S within customer base.
  • Conduct internal training sessions; Conduct external training sessions for consulting engineers, general contractors, and existing customers.
  • Enhance and innovate current solution set; Provide in depth, vertical market specific, customer research back to corporate office.
  • Construction specification development.  


What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Mechanical, Electrical, or Information Technology preferred
  • 8+ years’ relevant industry experience
  • Sales Experience, Business Development Experience
  • Network Design Engineering experience
  • Extra Low Voltage Systems experience
  • Expertise knowledge related to Smart Buildings and structures
  • Strong customer service and relationship skills; Ability to communicate to end clients
  • Travel – 50-60% is expected
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Advanced Presentation Skills; Advanced Change Management Skills
 Preferred:
  • MBA
  • 5-10 years of sales / business development and operations experience
  • Bilingual (English / French) written and verbal communication skills
