Reporting to the Field Service Team Leader – the Engineer ensures that products and solutions are assembled efficiently, safely, at the right cost and to the right level of quality in order to meet customer order requirements. Tasks are varied and therefore an in-depth knowledge of mechanical power transmissions and other rotating equipment would be highly beneficial to the successful candidate.
The key requirements of this role are to have the ability to perform tasks, both internally and externally without supervision, taking an active lead role in training and mentoring others.
•Predominantly overseeing service activities in Scotland and surrounding areas. This will also be a national role and will require travel to other locations and time away from home.
•Take responsibility for H, S & E and ensure controlmeasures are in place. Activelysupport zero harm culture; specifically the recording of near misses,reporting of accidents/incidents with completion of specific task riskassessments.
•Take ownership and responsibility for one or more H, S& E related tasks within a zone/s; if appropriate take responsibilityof H, S & E designated Zone.
•Participate in any continuous improvement activities,including workshops and discussion groups relating to quality, cost anddelivery performance. Assist andsupport the implementation and promotion of continuous improvement within boththe production and field service environments.
•Awareness and contribution to Company targets in relationto quality, cost and delivery performance.
•Support, lead, train and mentor others (includingapprentices). Lead by example and encouragement,ensuring that best work practices are introduced, maintained and improved.
•Assemble and manufacture products in line with works orderinstructions requirements, to meet customer expectations.
•Efficient assembly in line with productivityimprovements and capacity planning (achieve the required efficiency and utilizationstandards for production – i.e. performance/assembly to build times).
•Contributionand participation in production meetings as and when requested.
•Participation and involvement with company qualityprocedure and standards, ensuring timely identification, communication and recording of allquality issues and non-conforming product (i.e. accurate completion ofquality check lists, component quality etc). Ensure that all quality procedures arefollowed and adhered to at all times.
•Assist, support and promote 5’s activitieswithin both the production and field service environments.

•Wind Turbine Gear unit repair and Industrial Gear unit repair
•Endoscope Inspection (Wind / Industrial)and Condition Monitor (Wind / Industrial)
•SGM (MOTOX, SIMOGEAR), SGU (FZG, SIG, SIP)
•Field Service / Repair (including reporting and diagnostics) and Industrial Project Solutions (baseplate assemblies, alignment)
•Sub Assembly, SGM (Motox), SGU (FZG, SIG, SIP), Wind
•Inside Service / Repair (including reporting and diagnostics)
•Outside Service / Repair
•Industrial Project Solutions (baseplate assemblies, alignment)
