The Commercial Bid Manager is a meaningful role to support the long- term success of our business. Here, we work closely alongside the Head of Commercial Bid Management and the Bids & Proposals team and are responsible for the end to end process of bids. This will include coordinating with our legal and technical teams, as well as accounting and Siemens Financial Services for input. Aside from a strong commercial background, you should have a legal mindset to help review bid contracts - you will be responsible for leading comprehensive reviews of commercial terms and conditions of proposals for multimillion-dollar Rail Automation projects!

The role has main ownership of proposal calculations and will ensure completeness and accuracy with the Bid Manager. In addition to those calculations, you will also have these responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and conduct reviews with other subject authorities (Government Services, Siemens Financial Services, Risk Management, Tax, Legal, Export Control and Customs) for key input
  • Participate in contract reviews and negotiations
  • Compile list of comments to commercial terms and conditions with partners for bids
  • Provide documentation for bid approval (LoA) process (NCM documentation, claim strategy, etc.)
  • Complete responsibility questionnaires and certifications of compliance with federal and state requirements
  • Issue commercial proposal letters and verify completeness of proposal packages with management signoff

Education

BS/BA in Accounting/Finance/Economics (or related discipline) or advanced degree.

Knowledge and Experience

Previous experience with projects or products businesses is helpful to succeed. We are seeking a good communicator, someone with commercial/finance skills who has a proven understanding of the bid process and contract language. 8+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
