Job Description

The incumbent, as a member of the Immunoassay Development team, will lead assay development and/or method enhancement projects on automated instruments.  Work involves assay development for infectious disease markers,  verification of product performance and the development of solutions to technical problems. The incumbent must have strong oral and written skills, the ability to work in a multi-functional team environment, and be capable of coping with change. Experience with immunoassay development and automated instrumentation is desirable. Typical education would be a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology or a related field with 3-6 years of experience or a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Immunology with 8+ years of experience.


 The successful candidate will

•Lead multiple immunoassay development teams to develop infectious disease assays for automated immunoassay systems.

•Work with cross-functional project team members to develop product performance requirements.

•Plan and execute experiments by operating automated immunoassay instruments.


Should be hands-on, willing to get into the lab to execute method verification studies or troubleshooting when needed.

•Perform data analysis, write technical protocols and reports.

•Apply scientific and statistical principles to design, conduct, and analyze multi-variable experiments (DOE).

•Follow all relevant internal and external regulatory requirements

•Perform root cause analysis as part of troubleshooting activities as necessary and implement corrective actions.

•Work with biohazardous and potentially infectious materials.


 Individual must have prior management experience
