In order to strengthen our position we are looking for a thermal & hydraulic engineer, based in Zoeterwoude. In this position you are responsible for the achievement of the account business targets. In the role, you will work closely with Stakeholders at different levels within the Siemens organization, supporting and advising them on all thermal & hydraulic matters. We are seeking a talented and driven engineer for our thermal & hydraulic engineering department. Someone who wants to get the best out of themselves and out of our technology. As a thermal & hydraulic engineer you will be responsible for the conversion of customer’s process specifications for heat transfer equipment into matching thermal and hydraulic designs and the preparation of information transfer documents like performance tables, performance test procedures, process flow diagrams, process data sheets and system descriptions.
You will work in a project team, headed by a proposal/project engineer, both during the proposal and detailed engineering stages of a project. In the project team you will join forces with engineers from disciplines like piping design, instrumentation, mechanical design and process & equipment.
Your responsibilities will typically be:
· Preparation of energy and mass balances;
· Performing single and two phase flow heat transfer and hydraulic calculations;
· Performing hydraulic verification of pumps, fans, control valves, flow devices etc.;
· Thermal performance risk analysis;
· Preparation of information transfer documents (PFD, Process Data Sheets etc.)
The tools you have at your disposal to accomplish these tasks are mainly proprietary software, spreadsheet based solutions and word processor.
· You have a Bsc. or Msc. degree in a discipline that has common grounds with the subject matter (e.g. Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Energy Technology);
· You already are, or would like to become, an expert in the field of thermal & hydraulic engineering;
· You have teamwork skills and are, where appropriate, capable of independent action;
· You have good communication/reporting skills in English. German reading skills would be a plus;
· Computer programming experience would be a plus.
