Vertical Sales Specialist – Fiber Industry
The Vertical Sales Specialist is the first contact to our customers, e.g. Pulp & Paper Mills, Process Machinery OEMs, System Integrators and Engineering Consultants.
He / she is a self-starter, works independently with little supervision, develops a robust opportunity pipeline, is able to close orders and grows market share in the United States.
He / she establishes and develops customer relationships, and in a consultative approach develops project and life-cycle services solutions which address our customer’s operational and strategic needs.
He / she presents the available solutions and complete portfolio, e.g. sectional-, stand-alone Drives, DCS and Electrical Power Distribution including our industry-specific SIPAPER solutions and Service offerings.
This individual will work mainly with external customers but will also need to communicate with internal product suppliers and the global organization.
He / She will work from local Siemens’ offices or from home and reports directly to the Head of Fiber Industry.
Interfaces with the full range of the solution spectrum contacts – End-customers, OEM partners, consultancies, integrators, internal and external suppliers / vendors, Sales and field service personnel.
Initiates customer RFQs and supports proposals for Pulp & Paper applications including participation in the bid- release-process.
As part of the team provide customized solution with Drives, Automation and Power distribution for the customer’s application.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
- Education: BA or BS degree in Electrical Engineering (E.E.) or (E.E.T.). MBA or MS degree a plus.
- 8 years of Sales experience with Sectional Drives, DCS, Power Distribution, Solutions and services.
- Has product/system, service and application knowledge in the fiber industry.
- Proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility.
- Strong organization and excellent time management skills.
- Is self-driven and motivated, flexible in communication with customers, seeks best solution for customer.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.
- Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office.
- He / She is a team-player.
- Travel 60%
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
Background in Sales, Business Development and / or Application Engineering / field service directly related to the Pulp & Paper or similar Industry.
Experience with sectional drives, low & medium voltage motors, single drives and automation.
Experience working directly for electrical / automation suppliers to the Pulp & Paper Industry.
Knowhow of power distribution equipment, e.g. switchgear, MCC, transformers.
Knowledge of Siemens SIPAPER software.
