Lead Web Developer

Job Description

Lead Web Developer

ID:185332

Cambridge, UK

The Parasolid Group is part of Siemens Industry Software, who specialise in providing software products in a 3D modelling toolkit used in hundreds of the world’s leading Computer Aided Design, Engineering and Manufacturing programs.

Parasolid has been at the cutting edge of 3D design for over 30 years and boasts a wide range of technology leaders and household names (such as Apple, Red Bull F1, Lego, Canon, Dyson, SpaceX) designing their products on systems powered by Parasolid. With over 4 million engineers and designers using Parasolid-based applications daily, you are rarely more than a metre away from a product designed with Parasolid geometry.

Over the last 30+ years we have invested heavily in tools to improve the development and management of our products. Our internal web tools are vital to the success of the Parasolid products. We are continually generating new ideas for web tools and the team that support their development. Currently we are searching for a Web Developer to help in realising these innovations.

You will undertake a key role in supporting the group whose activities include solving complex mathematical and engineering problems:

  • Assuming responsibility for leading the design, development and maintenance of our internal web-tools.
  • Advising on which technologies to use for new projects.
  • Project responsibility, including planning, full-stack design & implementation, testing and documentation.

The development of web solutions is very agile. All the users are in house, so are readily available to provide feedback and decision making to keep the development progressing and ensure the UI is kept minimal and efficient. The web tools are mainly written in .NET core and hosted via IIS with an SQL server back-end. There are some legacy pages written in ASPX which need occasional surgery to continue running too!

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic web developer to take ownership of our web tools and work with our onsite development team in order to provide a rich set of enhancements to new and existing web solutions. The role involves full stack development and an opportunity to be involved in the design decisions throughout the lifetime of the products.

We are looking forward to receiving your online application. Please ensure you complete all areas of the application form to the best of your ability as we will use this data to review your suitability for the role.
