What is this Opportunity?

Siemens Energy is seeking an accomplished Technical Proposal Specialist with experience in Power System Services in the Transmission & Distribution market in Canada.

Reporting directly to the Business Development Manager, as Technical Proposal Specialist, you will support our Business Developers by reviewing incoming requests for proposals, evaluating technical requirements to determine proposal feasibility, coordinate with different internal groups and sub-suppliers to arrange for the technical and commercial offers, and arrange the final proposal submission.

This position may require some domestic travel.


What will you do?

  • Support business development activities within assigned key accounts and/or markets
  • Review and analyze all customer requirements and support the proposal response strategy
  • Manage proposal production, packaging, and delivery to ensure on-time completion and compliancy
  • Act as the primary interface between internal groups; gather, organize, interpret and collate data from multiple sources (Technical, Legal, Finance, Procurement, etc.)
  • Develop proposal templates and standard cost models
  • Write and edit content including executive summaries, technical descriptions, project schedules and other narratives
  • Manage, organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet competing deadlines
  • Maintain accurate record keeping in CRM database including client, opportunity and deadlines
  • Participate and coordinate resources for the successful conclusion of negotiations relating to contractual terms and conditions
  • Support project hand-over activities from Sales to Operation


What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor or college diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering technology or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in Power System Services in the Transmission & Distribution market in Canada
  • Experience with projects in the Utilities, preferably substation services, installation, commissioning of transformers / medium voltage switchgear, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand various forms of electrical drawings and specifications
  • Highly detailed with exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail oriented with good customer service, organization and conceptual thinking skills
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Fluent written and verbal English language
  • French written and verbal communication skills would be an advantage
