The Molecular Imaging (MI) division of Siemens Healthineers is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team to develop next generation SPECT imaging devices (https://www.siemens-healthineers.com/en-us/molecular-imaging/spect-and-spect-ct). In this role you will be developing software which:

 

  • reliably calibrates SPECT imaging devices to maximize quality of images created during patient scans thus enabling physicians to diagnose patients correctly and with confidence.  

  • allows to assess image quality performance of the device

  • regularly checks that the device operates at highest level

  • smartly diagnoses and helps to service complex, bleeding edge technology devices, avoiding or decreasing system downtime for doctors and patients

  • enables efficient manufacturing of this device

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

  • Design, implementation, integration and test of software applications

  • Collaboration with other teams and partners in order to understand user needs, help to come up with innovative concepts and solutions, demonstrate feasibility and get early feedback for chosen solution, execute according to defined implementation and integration plans.

  • Write and review technical documentation

  • Troubleshoot issues reported by test team or customers

  • Evaluate new technologies, refactor and redesign solutions for new releases or products

 

Required skills, education, and experience:

 

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field

  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of software engineering practices

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work independently, as part of an Agile team as well as with other teams at same or remote locations in US, Germany and India.

  • Willingness to take responsibility, drive and own topics, positive commitment to customers, company and team.

 

Preferred skills, education, and experience:

 

  • 2-5 years of professional desktop and web application development experience, ideally using C#, .Net, WCF, ASP.Net, Spring.Net, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, JSON, XML, SQL, Windows OS technologies.

  • Excellent understanding of object-oriented design, patterns and architecture principles applied in large-scale projects

  • Excellent understanding of distributed system design, asynchronous communication and multi-threaded application development
