Job Description

Job Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline

• 10+ years of software engineering/QA experience in a C/C++, Unix environment

• Ability to successfully drive to conclusion projects with multiple dependencies and stakeholders

Knowledge and prior experience in the following areas is desired:

• Good understanding of Linux OS (Redhat especially); most recent, up-to-date knowledge of OS and gcc releases roadmap

• Experience in evaluating new OS and HW platforms

• Good understanding of modern compilers and linker (static/dynamic linking) technologies

• Solid understanding of C++, including the latest language constructs (C++14/17)

• Excellent understanding of C++ compilers, including gcc, Clang, intel C++ compiler; good understanding of compiler options (including for performance boosting) and warnings

• Familiarity with modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDL), software development environment and tools (used during the development, validation and release process)

• Excellent knowledge of C++ debuggers (gdb, TotalView etc.) and good debugging skills (including debugging of MT-code)

• Good knowledge of IDEs, including eclipse

• Familiarity with source code revision control tools, including cvs and git

• Familiarity with build infrastructure; knowledge of make and other build tools

• Familiarity with static code analyzers (Coverity, Klockwork, Clang etc.)

• Familiarity with run-time analyzers, including:

o Coverage reporting: Pure Coverage, gcov

o Performance analysis: gperf, vtune, quantify

o Memory analyzers: Purify, valgrind, address sanitizers

• Ability to conduct performance/memory benchmarks

• Experience in building/evaluation/integration/validation of newer versions of third party components (alone or jointly with R&D)

• Experience in evaluating new or newer versions of tools; be able to identify, localize and report the issues to a vendor in order to troubleshoot/fix those

• Excellent scripting skills, knowledge of shell programming (bshell, cshell, TCL etc.), python, perl, awk, regex etc.

• Excellent porting skills

• Software quality:

o Interest and awareness of software architecture alternatives

o Understanding of software quality metrics

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
