The Senior Real-Time Software Engineering position will be a part of the development team for the next generation product focused on remote robotics. You will develop real-time robotic software, changing the future of healthcare. You should have demonstrated experience in OS configuration, optimization, and driver development in medical device, robotics, or instrumentation. Ideal candidates will include those who have designed and implemented real-time software for a medical robotics technology platform, communication interfaces and image processing. This is a collaborative opportunity where the individual will work with other engineering disciplines, product management and clinicians.
Responsible for developing real-time software for medical robotic control.
Architect, design and implement real-time software using development best practices, including continuous software testing.
Provide and maintain domain expertise of relevant software technologies and products.
Utilize novel software technologies to advance business goals.
Generate software requirements documents, design specifications, and software test protocols.
Desired Skills and Experience
BS Degree in Computer Science, Robotics or other related technical area required, MS preferred
7+ years of experience designing and developing complex software for medical devices
Strong C, C++ skills required
Strong experience with RTOS, such as QNX, WindRiver, or Linux required
Experience with writing drivers for RTOS preferred
Strong skills in Object-Oriented Design and Analysis, with the use of UML preferred
Experience with hard real-time, high availability systems preferred
Experience with real-time communication using field bus protocols preferred
Experience with Unit testing and software Verification and Validation processes preferred
Experience with Atlassian tools, and Git or Mercurial preferred
Experience developing devices in a regulatory environment, applying standards such as ISO and IEC for SDLC preferred
Experience working in an Agile development environment preferred
Strong communication skills preferred
Ability to travel up to 10% required
