Position Summary: LNG Sr. Project Controls Manager- Houston, TX

Siemens is seeking a LNG Project Controls Manager (PCM) located in Houston, Texas responsible for performing Project Controls activities and/or supervising the overall Project Controls requirements for select projects reporting to the LNG Solutions Project Controls Manager.

As the LNG PCM you will:

  • Provides a comprehensive project controls function for the LNG Solutions Group on various select projects, including project planning, progress measurement and reporting, budget and cost control, and risk management.
  • Oversee, facilitate and ensure progress reporting of Siemens engineering and manufacturing centers engaged in the projects.
  • Assists the groups Sales Team in the preparation of proposal deliverables related to scheduling and project controls for prospects.
  • Establish the project controls function that provides timely and effective project controls support to projects assigned.

Your projects assigned:

  • Determine formats and frequency and distribution of the project progress reports.
  • Prepare the project progress reports, rolling up cost reports and schedules for the Siemens engineering and manufacturing centers engaged in the contract, into an overall integrated project report and overall project schedule, detailing progress against plans and budgets, for circulation to project partners and stakeholders.
  • Analyze variances in cost or schedule performance against the plan and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to the Project Team and management.
  • Develop a change and variation order proposal register, account for changes in cost and schedule forecasts.
  • Provide risk analysis, feedback and recommendations/corrective measures to the Project Team and management.
  • Ensure the capture of project close-out information.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and deliver project controls presentations to internal management and to stakeholders, as required. 
  • Ensure the provision of suitable project controls tools to optimize compatibility with the partners’ systems (if required).
  • Support the development of integrated Project Controls execution plan and proposal deliverables in conjunction with the Sales Team. 
  • Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance. 
  • Undertake a review of previous lessons learned, and the incorporation of relevant lessons

learned into the strategy.

Required Skills/Experience/Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction.
  • Min of 7 years of hydrocarbon oil and gas Project Controls experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques and associated software (Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project)
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, supported by inter-personal skills that support working at a senior level.
  • Team player with a mindset to work with a global team and with diverse cultures.
  • Ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with peers and partner representatives to influence decisions or ways of working.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and share knowledge in both formal and informal settings.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills with ability to explain technical matters to staff not conversant with the detailed technical area.
  • Able to manage time effectively, both own time and that of a team to achieve delivery of work against agreed schedules.
  • Strong delivery focus and good problem solving and analytical skills. 
  • Fluent English oral & written essential

Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience of working on projects with joint venture/consortium partners beneficial.
