Join Siemens Smart-Infrastructure (SI) within our Regional Solutions and Services (RSS) business unit as a Project Solutions Manager (fire and security).

The role of Solutions Manager will be responsible for managing a team of project managers and engineers delivering a portfolio of small and medium sized fire & security projects across the South of England. Customers include a mix of blue chip end user clients, FM companies and various Contracting companies. 

As the Solutions Manager the purpose of your role will be to ensure the safe delivery of projects in accordance with Siemens processes, procedures and standards and UK law as well as managing several Project Managers in the Planning and execution of project.

A brief scope of this role and where your expertise is required (but not limited to):

  • Management of Project Management and Commissioning resources to ensure productivity targets are met.

  • Manage costs and cash flow via Siemens Project Management tools, cost to completion forecasts and Databases to maximise profitability and control free cashflow.

  • Provide accurate resource forecasts and early visibility of potential risks and delays to the programme by third parties, suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Operational, Financial, Process & Quality Control throughout project life cycle.

  • New Project sign off & and Start-up, Design phase operational management.

  • Project Close out and Acceptance.

  • Competency Management, verification of skills.

  • Project Audit processes.

  • Client relationship management, Management of all third-party contractors.

  • Manage compliance to the varying terms of the varied forms of contract we are engaged with.

  • Ensure compliance to company policies and guidelines.

  • Ensure clear visibility of systems and compliance to the operational management tools and the CTC process while ensuring full collaboration with the commercial team and other project and non-project departments.

Key partners include:

Internal - Senior Management team, Design teams, Siemens Technical support teams, H&S, Document Control, Service Delivery teams, Sales

External - Customers and Customer representatives, External Quality consultants, External Auditors, Siemens Subcontractors / Suppliers Planning representatives.

What you need to make real what matters.

  • Recognised project management qualification such as APM PMQ or equivalent.

  • Experience of managing small to medium project portfolios.

  • Experience of controlling project costs, managing change and identifying and mitigating risk.

  • Experience of providing financial performance reports and forecasts.

  • Ideally fire system, security system or construction industry experience.

  • Experience of using MS Projects, MS Visio, and financial reporting tools.

Location & Travel:

You would be based at our Frimley office. Travel will be required therefore a company car forms part of the package on offer. Travel may include overnight stays.  Working locations will include visits to project sites (regional / national), supplier sites (national).
