Service Project Engineer - Gas and Power

Siemens has a fantastic opportunity for a Service Project Engineer to join our Gas and Power team based at our offices in Macquarie Park, Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Service Operations, this challenging and rewarding role will be responsible for managing, delivering and executing service projects on our Siemens control system fleet in the power generation and oil & gas industry.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing all project specifications and ensure requirements are communicated, understood, and incorporated into design, engineering and site implementation 
  • Assisting in preparing project coordination meetings, including specifications, discussion of requirements, scope of equipment supply, equipment arrangement, options offered, and drawing/documentation schedules
  • Effectively monitor engineering schedules and communicate any potential impact to cost, cash flow or delivery to project manager
  • Supporting Project Manager for all technical aspects of the project as needed to address the needs of the external customer and internal customer
  • Providing leadership to the project team to ensure project deliverables and milestones are met
  • Ensuring timely resolution / response to client questions
  • Coordinating all interfaces between project team / customer and Siemens factories 
  • Preparing and issuing a timely, complete, and concise job file
  • Building a strong customer relationship through a positive, proactive & professional approach
  • Participating in in-house Factory Testing (FT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
  • Co-ordinate site outages and manpower
  • Proactively promote innovation, improvements, risk identification and safety management
  • Working under the company quality management system and take responsibility for HS&E

What you will bring:
  • Degree/Diploma in Control/Automation engineering (or other similar technical area)
  • Minimum of 5 years of project engineering experience on control system upgrade projects in the Power Generation or Oil & Gas market on rotating equipment
  • Practical knowledge of Siemens controls system SPPA-T3000, PCS7 or S7/WinCC
  • Excellent technical writing skills with focus on design document, inspection and test plans and commissioning reports
  • Self-starter with a strong delivery focus and good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel to customer sites sometimes on short notice and travel frequently within Australia
