Manufacturing Quality Manager

Job Description

Siemens Large Drives, New Kensington is the leader in low and medium voltage power conversion equipment.

The Manufacturing Quality team supports effective implementation of the manufacture, inspection, and test processes with focus on product safety, quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

The Manufacturing Quality Manager will implement the overarching Manufacturing Quality mission and strategy, and ensure implementation of related Quality policies and guidelines within manufacturing for Siemens Large Drive Applications, New Kensington.  The Manufacturing Quality Manager provides leadership to the Quality resources supporting all Inspection activities and the short-term resolution of manufacturing Quality issues.  



Manages Manufacturing Quality inspection and technician teams in all New Kensington’s locations

Defines, implements, and improves manufacturing Quality processes

Ensures and controls implementation of quality methods in manufacturing processes (8D, RCA, pFMEA)

Ensures implementation and improvement of the Integrated Management System according to the factory quality strategy

Drives continuous improvement with management and lessons learned across the factory

Ensures and improves the relevant manufacturing quality reporting and associated key process indicators



Promotes a zero-defect culture

Focuses on the customer’s perspective when setting priorities and taking action

Works closely with Manufacturing and Operations Engineering to establish appropriate Quality criteria

Applies methods and tools to ensure quality of products and manufacturing processes

supports Quality problem incidents, facilitation of short-term solutions, coordinates containment, and ensures that the solutions meets quality requirements

Maintain a corrective action system to effectively address manufacturing Quality related issues

Conduct and define inspection and internal audits according to defined guidelines of ISO9001:2015

Identify, analyze root causes, and prevent non-conformances costs before delivery

Setting priorities, structuring and planning tasks and actions to achieve goals and meet timelines

Fosters team skills and motivation to achieve quality objectives

Executes the competence management and training system for manufacturing quality related competences

Plans and proposes quality budget, and decides allocation of related financial and personnel resources, within given limits.

Ensures non-conformance cost (NCC) management and reporting.



Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

2+ Years of People Management

3+ Years of Professional experience in Quality or Manufacturing Management

7 + Years of Experience in related areas of manufacturing and/or engineering.  Preferably directly supporting a factory.

Prefer some knowledge or experience in electro-mechanical system or transferable technical experience

Ability to work in matrix global organization

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Proven ability to work cross functionally with multiple departments, such as Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
