Position Overview

We are looking to add a motivated and hardworking engineer to our team! This position is for a Manufacturing Engineer in Richland, MS for the Voltage Regulator Business. You will be working with a team of manufacturing, design, and service professionals, as well as collaborating with shop floor personnel to develop process improvements.  You will be expected to contribute to wide range of project types including Automation, Digitalization, and Machine Modernization.  This position will report directly to the General Manager of the Voltage Regulator business.


The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and analysis of the manufacturing processes and equipment required for the manufacture of voltage regulators and its subcomponent assemblies. This will require the use of proper engineering principles and practices to effectively complete the required tasks.

You will be responsible for owning the development and application of all processes used to manufacture Voltage Regulators. This person should have strong technical ability in the areas of process improvement. This position also requires the candidate to have the ability to instruct and train technicians on the use of the fixtures, tooling, programs, and equipment. Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and capabilities is required, particularly during the process development phase.

  • Analyze Capacity of Manufacturing and create measures to improve productivity
  • Lead and Collaborate on New Equipment Purchases and current equipment upgrades
  • Coordinate with other departments to properly coordinate and manage the Capital Expenditure Plan

·         Effectively communicate among multiple functional groups (sales/marketing, procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, etc.) for the flawless execution of customer requirements.

  • Lead and support Process FMEAs
  • Establish and maintain SOPs for maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, reliability and safety in manufacturing.
  • Support Training Program for Shop Floor Personnel

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·       Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or related field

·       2-5+ years of manufacturing experience

·       Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications

·       Focus on quality and continuous improvement

·       Ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Self-motivated to produce high quality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Adobe Acrobat
  • 10% Travel

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Experience in the Power industry with voltage regulator/transformer products, low/medium/high voltage products or electrical substations.
  • Knowledge of the electrical transmission or distribution systems and IEEE standards
  • Experience with SAP
  • Strong understanding of design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing principles
  • Strong understanding of LEAN principles
  • Experience with implementing Automation and Digitalization Projects
