Operational Governance Manager

Job Description

Join our Digital Grid team as an Operational Governance Manager.  This is a brand-new role for this team in the UK with the responsibility of establishing and continuously developing the operational framework. This includes the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures and contracts. You will be the ‘go-to’ for data protection and cyber security governance, policies, procedures and compliance to protect our customers.

As an Operational Governance Manager, you play an important role in business success by:

  • Ensuring that policies and procedures are implemented as operational tools.

  • Providing information on changes and improvements that you propose and implement.

  • Ensuring system security and data protection is in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations (in the UK and across country). 

  • Creating and maintaining privacy agreements with customers and subcontractors, responding to End User Privacy Requests, and handling privacy notices for regulators and end users.

  • Training employees involved in data processing, service operations as well as customers on important privacy and compliance requirements.

  • Working with the data subjects to inform them about the way their data is used/processed, their rights to have their personal data deleted, and what measures the company has taken to protect their personal data.

  • Being the main point of contact between the company and the supervisory authorities.

  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance of policies and controls as well as proactively address potential problems.

What you need to make real what matters.

  • As the Operational Governance Manager, you will bring your experience of data protection, IT guidelines and IT governance.

  • Experience of operational governance or compliance within IT industry or utilities industry, highly advantageous.

  • Working with customers and key partners is a large part of this role, therefore superb communication skills and the ability to communicate well with various levels and influence through communication is essential.

  • Experience of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), auditing and assessment. 

  • Knowledge of ISO27001 advantageous.

  • Experience of working within this field on an international scale is highly advantageous.

Location & Travel

You will be based in Nottingham with some flexibility to work from home as required. There will be some travel involved in this role, mostly outside of the UK.
