Assembler Associate

Job Description

Flender Corporation, a Siemens company is in search of an assembler for the Elgin, Illinois facility. This position will be responsible for assembly of wind turbine power transmissions and their sub-assemblies. 

What required knowledge, skills, education, and experience do you need?

Qualified applicants must be able to work from blue prints, parts lists and assembly cards. Experience with the use of parts washers, freezers, ovens, cranes, fork trucks, hand and power tools. Must be able to shim and final assemble gear units. Must be able to work alone, with other assemblers, and assist to oversee lower grade assemblers. 
Additional experience includes;
  • Experience with shop computers
  • Must have the ability to receive training from peers
  • Hydraulic torque wrench use including torque specifications
  • Proper loctite (sealant) use.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment including but not limited to micrometers, veneers, etc.
  • Knowledge of bearings
  • Basic knowledge of Lean and SPS.
  • Lathe experience is preferred, but not required.
The positions available are full time. The shift hours will vary.

What education do you need to have?
Qualified applicants must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
