This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Technical Documentation and Test Co-Op you will be responsible for:

  • The selected co-op student will have the opportunity to learn about how radiation detectors, specifically PET detectors, operate in detail.  The student through test and support from Hardware Engineers and Physicists within Detector Research and Development will learn how different optical and mechanical parameters (sensors, circuits, mechanics, system integration, etc.) within a PET detector impact system performance.
  • In your activities you will work with detector scientists and engineers translating technical information from several developers into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. Depending on education and experience the candidate will also have the opportunity to test and record results relating to PET detectors and electronics.

  • You are a rising junior in your BS degree or final semester in your AS degree in engineering or technical writing discipline.
  • You have a good PC skills (MS Office software: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • You will be working with our latest technology and therefore you are willing to learn about new software and hardware solutions.
  • You have good presentation skills and you show team orientation and communication skills.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher

Required skills to have for the success of this role

Technical experience to be applied during co-op:

  • Create technical documentation meeting medical device requirements based on input from developers, adhering to the quality system process.
  • Proofread and perform difficult and/or complex writing and editorial functions, including formatting and style sheet verification, writing, revising and proofreading.
  • Ensures consistency, clarity, and quality in and across all types of documentation.
  • Conduct and document reviews of subsystem documentation.
  • Subsystem integration and test.

Start date ASAP for a 6 month duration.
