We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, HR Business Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations and global people programs for our international firm. Reporting to the Head of People Operations in Palo Alto, California, your role will be very hands-on and require a degree of confidence and independence in decision-making, as well as the ability to navigate effective communication across time zones. This position carries functional responsibilities across a number of areas: recruiting assistance, on-boarding, policy implementation, employment law compliance, employee relations, off-boarding, data collection, performance management, program roll-out, and employee relations. In full transparency, that requires someone who doesn’t mind getting his/her hands dirty and seeing new challenges each day. Think: strategic, yet scrappy. The payoff for the right person in this role is not only learning about broader global people and compliance topics, but also helping put your thumbprint on many foundational operational and culture-driven projects for the firm.
A partial list of some of the responsibilities of the incumbent:
§ Administers various human resource plans and procedures globally.
§ Participates in ensuring performance evaluation program deadlines are met.
§ Partners with internal Siemens partners on a variety of topics.
§ Participates in recruitment process-internal Siemens partners and external vendors-for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, students, and temporary employees.
§ Serves as point-of-contact for candidates and new hires via on-boarding process (partnering with group administrators and on-boarding services).
§ Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit processes.
§ Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as required.
§ Assists in org chart changes, as required.
§ Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
§ Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports as required.
§ Maintains compliance with jurisdictional employment and benefits laws and regulations.
§ Partner directly with Siemens global site HR partners, as necessary.
§ Assist in program roll-outs and participates in the build processes to ensure regional employee considerations are met.
§ Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related (essential). SPHR or PHR a huge plus.
§ Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR generalist responsibilities.
§ Efficient HR administration and people engagement skills.
§ Excellent record keeping skills.
§ Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
§ Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
§ Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software.
