Siemens Energy is seeking a self-driven individual to complement our district office team.

As a Field Service Engineer Assistant Manager, you will apply a broad knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the commercial and technical service management of turbine and generator equipment.

This individual will be responsible for the management of all resource coordination for work scopes within the assigned geographical area. The Assistant District Service Manager the District Service manager and platform team to ensure that all aspects of the customer’s needs and relationship are maintained.  Identifies and manages the resolution of more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with a wide range of situations. Responsibility will include customer and Field Service interface involving installation, testing, operation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and modification of customer equipment and systems.  The position reports directly to the District Service Manager for field service and is a key point of contact of internal and external customer interface.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage assignment of the district engineers and support staffing of outages.

  • Communicate key technical, commercial and customer issues upward to District Management.

  • Collaboration with the platform team including LTP, Sales, Warranty, and Parts, to provide “best-in-class” customer service.

  • Support outage customer interface within the assigned district.

  • Support off-site technical and operational questions.

  • Review the customer contract requirements and project scope to achieve project objectives.

  • Identify additional opportunities out of the ongoing projects and submit those to the Service Business Leader, Sales or District Manager.

  • Support project risk management planning, Readiness Reviews and TMS process.

  • Supports completion of estimating and planning to develop complex proposals.

  • Manage and resolve issues with all necessary internal and external partners.

  • Support the review of complex outage plans, identifies drawings, and installation schematics and provides continual guidance throughout project duration.

  • Effectively communicate to onsite Project Leads and Service Business Leaders.

  • Manage district non-conformance costs and the identification of technical and commercial risks and opportunities.

  • ·Supports the Development of Budgets and business plans to support the current and future workload within the district.

  • Working knowledge of the administrative functions of the Services business including project setup, contract structure, progress reporting, revenue recognition and billing.

  • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others.

 

Required Knowledge/Skills, Experience, Education

  • BS/BA in a Business-related field or Engineering

  • Minimum 5+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. 

  • Required to travel up to 25%

  • Experience in general maintenance of large gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and associated equipment.

  • Experience working with union & non-union labor

  • Experience working in SAP, order entry and setting up projects in SAP

  • Knowledge of PCM and Change Management Systems. 

  • Experience in identifying and implementing cost savings measures within services projects.

  • Leadership skills and proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams, including services delivery and project management.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to present complex issues
