Job Description:

Siemens Postal, Parcel and Airport Logistics LLC is experiencing growth in our Supply Chain operations at our DFW Airport location. We are searching for a qualified Equipment Maintenance Technician for an immediate full time position. The Equipment Maintenance Technician will assist in routine inspection of manufacturing equipment and evaluate related operational, environmental, and safety issues. May also assist in facility-related programs/processes and assists with service calls/requests regarding routine maintenance activities or other routine equipment related procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot and repair all production equipment in the plant.  Includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on all production equipment.
• Use mill, lathe, drill press and other machine tools to modify, repair, or make replacement parts for equipment repairs.
• Prepare purchase requests for maintenance requirements.
• Communicate with floor supervision on scheduling machine downtime for non-emergency repairs.
• Maintain records of repairs, time spent, parts cost, and other information for history.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards.
• Perform other duties as instructed by management.
• High school or vocational education required.
• Additional trade experience preferred.
Knowledge, experience, and abilities:
• Minimum of 2-5 years equipment maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, required.
• Experience maintaining metal fabrication (plasma and press brake) and weld equipment a plus.
• Must be able to read wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, logic diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and mechanical blueprints.
• Have knowledge of electricity, commercial wiring and construction practices, and N.E.C.
• Must be able to read and interpret instruction manuals and parts lists.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Understand basic electronics, C.N.C. equipment, and motor controls.
• Able to work in a non-conditioned factory environment with moderate noise.
• Able to work around heavy machinery.
• Able to work using required PPE including, but not limited to, eye protection, safety shoes, safety harness, etc.
• Capable of achieving forklift, scissor lift, and crane operator certification.
• Must be mechanically inclined and physically coordinated.
• Must know how to read a tape measure, calipers, squares, volt meters, and other electrical test equipment.
• Must be able to use common hand tools, drills, lathes, mills, welders, and cutting torches.
