Position Overview:
Senior Systems Engineer for Rail Automation R&D team in the domain of embedded systems for rail signaling and onboard (carborne) equipment. In this role, you will design and develop new products and enhancements for existing products. The systems development tasks will include the development of safety critical software as well as communication systems and user interfaces. You will also touch on all aspects of requirements engineering, design, agile software development, test and V&V. 
  • Develop the design of very complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Develop complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up.
  • Develop recommendations related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Guide complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for processes and application of products to system design.
  • Apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and basic knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact.
  • Qualified applicants will have 12+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
  • Technical knowledge signaling, operations concepts in rail industry, rail products
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Embedded Software Control Systems architecture, design & development
  • Experience with Safety critical/Vital systems
  • Quality assurance, testing, test automation, verification, validation, and requirements engineering
