The business comprises a comprehensive portfolio in mail & parcel logistics and automation, airport logistics with baggage handling and air cargo, as well as service offerings supporting our customers with maintenance, operation and optimization. Our customers are airports & airlines, courier express parcel providers, the US Postal Service and commercial postal service providers.
Siemens Postal Parcel and Airport Logistic LLC (PPAL) is seeking an experience Field Operations Manager, SPPAL US responsible for the successful deployment of various Siemens products across a wide range of customers. The Field Operations Service Manager will report to the Director of Field Operations and Customer Service. He/She shall manage various Installation Team Leads, and be responsible for the site execution of Installation, Commissioning, Technical Acceptance and Customer Sign Off in accordance with specific contractual deliverables.
Manages the installation and/or service operations of a field sub-unit.
Manages the negotiations of maintenance and service agreements and is responsible for their execution.
Guides projects within the business, including project organization, definition, planning, implementation and control. Guides operations activities, managing labor utilization, job assignments, margin, profit and project delivery dates. Contributes to financial forecasting, estimating, monitoring, and recovery planning.
Ensures the availability of material to complete jobs on time while controlling carrying costs of inventory.
Defines, reviews, and validates Statements of Work.
Previous Experience with Managing Scope Delivery, Change Management, as well as Monitoring and Controlling.
Ensures customer satisfaction and employee productivity. Administers job cost re-estimates.
Successfully defines work flows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness.
Area of responsibility is primarily tactical/operational in nature, with limited strategic impact.
Develops and manages departmental budgets and/or business plans for a small to mid-size department or business unit.
Previous experience in the field deployment of various products across geographically dispersed areas, at 10+ locations.
Typical responsibility for innovation is to continuously enhance or improve existing policies, products, and methods.
Identifies resource needs and develops justification.
Troubleshoots and resolves very complex problems.
Recommends/ determines organizational structures and supervisory relationships for own segment of company.
Responsible for overall success of function or project
BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree, where required.
Field Service Manager Certification preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and basic knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact. Demonstrates understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
Typically 5+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
