Position Overview
The Siemens PLM Innovation and Research team is looking for a passionate Program Launch Manager to help drive the delivery of the next generation of PLM software products tackling a variety of problems like Data Wrangling, Microservices, Declarative Client, plus many more. As the Program Launch Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing the launch strategy and plan for new programs and initiatives aimed at accelerating customer adoption and field productivity. The rapid pace of delivery from our team and for our business requires seamless coordination between multiple stakeholder groups including Engineering, Sales, Business Development, Solution Architects, Sales Operations, and Senior Leadership. You will manage the overall Field Enablement launch roadmap and calendar, establish launch dates for new programs, and oversee launch readiness across functional stakeholders. You will develop the launch plan, work with key stakeholders to define and manage launch and release assets, and manage the activities necessary to ensure successful execution of communications, assets, and campaigns. In this role, you will also lead weekly launch sessions to align and inform cross-functional teams about launch activity and ensure launch readiness. A significant part of this role will be to develop and drive continuous process improvement initiatives so that the business can continue to scale its pace of innovation.
The right candidate is comfortable with planning and executing on various stages of program and campaigns; has proven project management expertise and outstanding written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated experience working effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure entrepreneurial environment with a strong desire to roll up your sleeves; and proven experience managing priorities and working effectively across a number of internal stakeholders. Prior experience developing sales and product marketing materials (e.g., customer-facing content, messaging, communications, etc.) is strongly preferred.
Where the position fits in the organization:  This position would be in the Innovation and Research team reporting to Ken Rogers. The innovation and Research team is within the Business Driven Innovation and Research team LCS organization. The person in this role will be the primary evangelist for the team’s launch of new innovations. As well as coordinating all of the details around the launch of new innovations and preparing material to ensure all stakeholders are aware of launch activities, it will be their responsibility to drive the internal evangelizing of the innovations to various teams within the PL organization.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Direct all activities required to drive a new product, product extension or platform enhancement from concept through launch. Assume a management role on assigned initiatives to coordinate and guide activity across a broad range of functional areas including but not limited to: product development, product marketing, operations, project management, legal, compliance, finance, sales and business unit leadership
  • Prioritize efforts, identify issues and drive execution with the development teams while working directly with senior business leadership and product management. Conduct problem analysis, prepare recommendations for action and implement approved decisions.
  • Manage the launch activities across large, cross-functional teams (potentially including contractor resources) and complex projects that may include the development of processes / procedures for handling new products. Lead teams to creative solutions to meet scope, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Works with Solution Architects and Product Owners to Develop project requirements
  • Manages the operating program inputs: project planning, logistics, operations management and financial performance
  • Manages and communicates customer’s product quality, on-time delivery, and configuration and inventory requirements.
  • Prepares and presents stakeholder required daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Manages multiple project deliveries with multiple tasks in a fast paced software factory
  • Recommends continuous improvements on new program launches
  • Supports projects by interfacing and coordinating between the customer, purchasing, production, engineering and quality
  • Design and implement new product introduction process
  • Assist with getting process and engineering documents through quality system in a timely manner
  • Coordinating with the development teams the delivery of sprint and milestone backlog items to ensure alignment to cross-functional application team needs
  • Ensuring the backlog represents the capacity and velocity of the team to ensure commitments are met and delivery timelines are accurate
Job tasks include:
  • Working with internal and external customers and Product Owners to define and align program deliverables
  • Establishes budget and timeline for all approved projects and is responsible for regularly communicating progress against project timeline to all project stakeholders
  • Conducts regular meetings with all project stakeholders to ensure proper focus remains on the project, its deliverables and expected results
  • Defining release mile stones and content
  • Working with Scrum Masters to groom team backlog to align to customer needs
  • Presenting Launch status to executive management in weekly and bi-weekly reviews
  • Preparing announcements for “launched” innovations and new features
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (marketing, business, communications, or relevant field of study) OR Associates degree plus 5+ years equivalent industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with various levels of the organization including senior executives
  • Minimum of five (5) years practical work experience in project management
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player and a team builder
  • Excellent presentation skills are required including proficient PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to write effective business correspondence is required
  • Ability to operate and thrive with partial information and ambiguity
  • Willingness to work off-hours as required for timely completion of projects.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Sense of urgency to meet program and design time line and cost meeting customer requirements
  • Proven success in managing complex and multi-faceted programs or projects with the ability to drive projects through completion

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices
  • Experience in Cloud based or distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
  • Understanding of cloud based development and best practices
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
