Job Description:

Siemens Building Technologies is expanding and in need of an Assistant Supervisor to support our growing Sales Team in the Greater Washington DC area (Beltsville, MD office).  The Assistant Supervisor provides supervision of sales support and contract management professionals with primary responsibility of delivering support to sales, sales management and the Branch General Manager.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares complex reports, correspondence, and/or statistics regularly, reporting on the status of the business

  • Maintains records and filing systems; types and/or enters data into computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, and / or other specialized software packages deployed in the field

  • Responsible for administration of programs, projects, and/or processes specific to the sales team while processing Order Intake, Contract Renewals and Account Management updates

  • Independently ensures all tasks are completed for the sales team so the sales unit returns maximum productivity in Order Intake and profitability

  • Manages and supervises the day to day administrative operation of approximately 4-6 sales support professionals and contract handlers in the Washington DC Branch

  • Responsible for recruiting, training, performance management and development of the existing and future staff members

  • Ability to work directly with legal to ensure pre-bid reviews and appropriate documentation is accurate and if needed, manage issues to include settling any issues that arise

  • Responsible for ensuring contract renewals and sales orders are competed timely and compliantly

  • Ability to manage the Workflow Standards process (Monthly)

  • Will be responsible for Compliance Reporting

  • Compilation and analysis of information for inclusion in reports or presentation materials regarding the sales the team’s progress

  • Will collaborate and partner with FBA, Controller, Bookers, Billers, and Collectors

  • May be required to work on special projects by management

  • Will report directly to the Branch General Manager with day to day responsibilities being managed by the Sr Sales Manager

  • Within established guidelines, makes independent decisions regarding planning, organizing and scheduling of work and/or facility maintenance

  • Regularly handles confidential materials and matters. 



Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Management or related subject preferred, however, candidates with directly related experience and at least a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency will also be considered

  • 3 to 5 years office management experience and process knowledge required, preferably within a similar industry

  • Proficiency with Quoting & Proposal Tool, SAP, CRM, and Microsoft Office

  • Requires regular use of business or specialized vocabulary and a strong knowledge of company operations, organizational procedures and personnel

  • Successful candidate must be able to work in the office daily and the ability/availability to work late hours as needed during month end

  • Must be able to work under tight time constraints
