This role will contribute to Digital Grid Business Unit (BU) performance to ensure transparency of business operations to the business unit management group. Obtains data and completes analyses, including market and competitor developments. Promotes and influences best practices exchanges, standardized processes and reporting; and accurate forecasting and risk analyses.
Leads the Performance Controlling function within Digital Grid with goal of providing senior management with clear, concise analysis serving to drive more focus on financial results and ultimately improved bottom line.
Communicates with BU managers and controllers, field management other departments within Digital Grid in order to demonstrate and promote timely and accurate forecasting and risk analysis.
Enhances and develops Digital Grid performance controlling through consistent dialogue and analysis with management, including market and competitor developments.
Recognizes and actively promotes the exchange of best practices between divisions with the goal of standardizing financial processes and reporting.
Completes standard and ad-hoc analyses and meets tight deadlines (monthly, quarterly, annual reporting). Extracts data from various internal and external sources such as SAP, Hyperion and other IT tools, from the financial press, Internet and associations (NEMA).
Designs and prepares text and graphical presentations to highlight financial relationships and developments and advises various levels of senior management on internal and external events.
- Contributes to conceptual discussions regarding market, planning, performance, and reporting issues; US GAAP applications, departmental process improvements and Siemens financial requirements.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field. CPA is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years operational experience in a variety of functions such as financial analysis, reporting and controlling, financial / management accounting, auditing, logistics, other business administration functions.
General business acumen / general understanding of financial statements and well developed (financial) analytical skills to identify key trends which affect the business.
Sound understanding of business / internal operational processes (i.e. Risk Reporting, FC quality).
Prior management experience.
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks to fulfill demanding timelines while maintaining focus on developing staff.
Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing demands and handle substantial time pressures.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to articulate information efficiently and precisely to various management levels within Digital Grid, Siemens and peers and to establish a relationship of trust within divisions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office to access data and report and graphically present information.
